I feel so awkward trying to comfort people and I just don’t seem to know the right things to say. A friend recently remarked,
“Maybe you don’t need to know what to say. Maybe you need to know how to just listen. Combine that with the power of not leaving someone. Be there for as long as they need it. Those two things will speak louder than any words.”
Perhaps she’s right. Instead of trying to figure out what *I* need to do to be correct, by simply being there I can “in humility count others more significant than myself.” (Phil 2:3)
