CNN: Trump Signs Unimportant Document with Group of Austere Religious Scholars
While some conservatives, who uniformly are uneducated bigots, have commented about how peace in Afghanistan is somehow “a good thing” that should “be on the news, so why isn’t it,” CNN has provided a much better take on the subject. In the 17 seconds that they devoted to the ending of the forever-war in the country, Anderson Cooper remarked,
“Today Donald Trump had his peons sign some sort of paper with a group of peace-loving, austere religious scholars in Afghanistan, rather than fighting the coronavirus. Good job, Chief!”
The Young Turks, meanwhile, spent more time on the subject, primarily because they interviewed Bernie Sanders, whose speech rate and cadence cause even trees to feel the passage of time.
“Yeah, I know. I have heard it said that perhaps Donald has signed some type, some type of document or other, with those hooligans overseas,” Bernie told Cenk Uygur. “I don’t know much about that, but I know that the USSR, who had great public infrastructure, and who provided free meals to its citizens, they fought those people. So if you ask me, in my book, Cenk, pulling out of Afghanistan is the wrong idea.”
