Washington, DC—An Associated Press reporter managed to get a picture of president Trump’s notes on the coronavirus and it quickly went viral.

“I snapped the picture as I heard him talking with Dr. Fauci about a question he was going to fun by Dr. Birx ; they were chatting as we all walked to Air Force One,” Michael Sturavant, the AP reporter, said. “If the note was weird, the conversation was even stranger, and absolutely racist. I recall it exactly:

Trump: What if we smoke it out?

Dr. Fauci: What?

Trump: The Invisible Enemy, the terrible coronavirus, what if we smoke it out?

Dr. Fauci: Smoke…it out?

Trump: Native American legend says, “scourge hate-um smoke, make heap-um scared.”

Dr. Fauci: Wha—

Trump: So what if we light small fires in people, we smoke it out? Not too small, we’ll need a lot of smoke, maybe the most smoke, even ever.

Dr. Fauci: Oh my.

As of the time of this writing, Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx have both declined to comment on the notes or the purported conversation.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio reacted negatively to the idea of smoking out the virus with small fires, noting that his city is simply “having the police beat anyone who might have it.”
